Wonder table lamp unites irreverent pop spirit and classical reminiscence, crossing the boundary between design and art in an object that combines decoration and usability.
The shapes of the Wonder lamp suggest the aesthetic of classical statues, part of a shared collective imagery: a male head moulded entirely from resin faithfully reproduces the features of the models of classical art, creating a visible and tactile short-circuit between the actual material used and marble. The man is immortalised in an unusual and contemporary pose, that of blowing a bubble of gum: as he blows, the man furrows his brows and crosses his eyes, as if to ask what the purpose of this playful act is, on the cusp between pastime and boredom.
The bubble, in the typical pale pink colour of chewing-gum, is made of glass and hides inside itself an LED that lights the room with a soft, diffused light.
La lampada da tavolo Wonder unisce lo spirito pop e irriverente a una reminiscenza classica, cadono i confini tra design e mondo dell’arte in un oggetto che fonde decorazione e utilità.
Le forme della lampada Wonder richiamano l’estetica delle statue classiche, parte di un immaginario collettivo condiviso: una testa maschile plasmata completamente in resina riproduce fedelmente le fattezze dei modelli dell’arte classica, creando un cortocircuito visivo e tattile tra l’effettivo materiale impiegato e il marmo. L’uomo viene immortalato in una posa inusuale e contemporanea, quella di realizzare un palloncino con un chewing gum: nell’azione di soffiare l’uomo aggrotta la fronte e incrocia gli occhi, come a chiedersi quale possa essere lo scopo di questo gesto ludico, in bilico tra il passatempo e la noia.
Il palloncino, del colore rosa tenue tipico delle gomme da masticare, è realizzato in vetro e nasconde al suo interno un LED che illumina la stanza con una luce soffusa e morbida.
